Second temporary accommodation facility for refugees in Rostov region to be moved farther from Ukrainian border

ROSTOV-ON-DON. July 24 (Interfax) - Field temporary accommodation facility for refugees, located three kilometers from the Novoshakhtinsk customs checkpoint at the Chernikov farm in the Rostov region, will be moved farther from the border due to the threat of Ukrainian missiles hitting it, the press office of the Rostov region department for preventing and liquidating emergency situations told Interfax on Thursday.

"New field camp, where 500 people will be able to stay, will be located in the village of Sokolovo-Kundryuchensky. As of now, employees of the Rostov region search and rescue service and Novoshakhtinsk municipal services work actively on setting up the camp - tents have been installed already, electricity and other utility services are being laid," the press office said.

The temporary accommodation facility is planned to take first people early next week, the press office said.

According to the information of the press office, Ukrainian missiles have repeatedly hit the Chernikov farm, where the temporary accommodation facility for refugees from southeastern Ukraine was set up.

It has been reported that another field temporary accommodation facility, located one kilometer from the Ukrainian border, has been moved to Donetsk in the Rostov region to ensure safety of people staying in it.

The tent camp is currently near Donetsk airport, 20 kilometers from the Russian-Ukrainian border.
