Burger King in Russia ups revenue to 5.5 bln rubles in 2013
MOSCOW. July 25 (Interfax) - LLC Burger Rus, which develops the Burger King fast food network in Russia, increased its revenue to 5.46 billion rubles last year, according to the SPARK-Interfax database.
The cost of sales in 2013 was 4.07 billion rubles and gross profit was 1.39 billion rubles.
The company's commercial expenses amounted to 1.499 billion rubles. As a result, Burger Rus finished the year with operating losses of 127 million rubles.
The company's net losses in 2013 were 66.55 million rubles.
Last year Burger Rus reorganized, absorbing 12 companies: LLC Azaliya, Burger Rus Spb-3, Burger Rus Spb-4, Burger Rus Spb-7, Burger Rus-1, Burger Rus-2, Burger Rus-3, Burger Rus-4, Burger Rus-5, Burger Rus St. Petersburg, Rus Burger and Feya.
In 2012, the revenue of LLC Burger Rus was 770.2 million rubles and net profit was 7.36 million rubles.
In 2013, Burger King opened 88 fast-food restaurants in Russia. In the space of three years, this number grew to 174 restaurants from 39 in 2011.
Burger King works on the Russian market on a franchising model. In June 2012, Burger King Worldwide, LLC Burger Rus and VTB Capital created a joint enterprise, Burger King Russia, which received an exclusive franchise for the development of the network in Russia. Burger King said that in a few years, it wants to open several hundred restaurants in Russia, including in Siberia.
