Kyiv reports abduction of two officials in Donetsk
KYIV. July 25 (Interfax) - Two officials of the Donetsk regional administration were abducted on Friday, says Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council spokesman Andriy Lysenko.
The officials in question are the chief and an employee of the Donetsk regional administration's internal policy department, Lysenko said at a news conference in Kyiv on Friday.
Lysenko blamed members of illegal armed groups opposing Ukrainian government forces for the abduction. "Preliminary findings indicate that they have been transported to and are being held at the office of the Ukrainian Security Service department for the Donetsk region," he said.
It was reported earlier that unidentified men seized the building of the Donetsk regional administration's information policy and press department.
