Several homes damaged by shells fired from Ukrainian territory, no fatalities - border official
ROSTOV-ON-DON. July 25 (Interfax) - Six homes have been damaged by shells fired from Ukrainian territory in the community of Primiussky, the Rostov region of Russia, Vasily Malayev, a spokesman for the Federal Security Service (FSB) border department for the Rostov region, told Interfax on Friday.
"A total of 45 rounds of ammunition exploded in the Kuibyshevsk district, six homes have been damaged, and one of them has sustained significant damage," Malayev said.
The incident did not cause casualties, he said.
The Russian Defense Ministry suggested on Thursday that the West should look into who fires at whom at the Russian-Ukrainian border.
"Something has been said about concentration of Russian troops near the Russian-Ukrainian border. Listen, do you actually know who fires at whom at the border? Russia has recorded nine instances of the shelling of Russian territory in June and July," Russian Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov said in an interview shown on Rossiya-24 news TV channel.
"Tens of Ukrainian artillery rounds and mines have exploded on our soil. Targeted fire was opened at a border patrol. Our citizen Andrei Shulyatyev was killed, leaving three underage daughters. I wonder if U.S. territory were fired upon from neighboring territory and, God forbid, a U.S. citizen were killed, what would the Americans do? The answer is clear," he said.
