Another 4,600 Ukrainian refugees come to Russia over past 24 hours - Emergency Situations Ministry
MOSCOW. July 26 (Interfax) - The number of Ukrainian refugees staying at Russian temporary settlements has exceeded 31,000, having increased by 4,600 people over the past 24 hours alone, Russian Emergency Situations Ministry spokesman Alexander Drobyshevsky told Interfax on Saturday.
Russia has opened 20 new temporary settlements for Ukrainian refugees over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of such settlements to 433, Drobyshevsky said. "As many as 31,784 people, including 11,728 children, are currently staying at 433 temporary settlements," he said.
The refugees have been provided with everything necessary, including food, medical, and psychological help, Drobyshevsky said. More than 1,400 tonnes of humanitarian aid has been supplied for these people, he said.
"Emergency Situations Ministry aviation and motor convoys are transporting refugees from the Rostov region and Crimea, where residents of southeastern regions of Ukraine have mainly been arriving, to other regions of Russia at their request. More than 15,500 people have been transported to other locations by now," he said.
