Microsoft in Russia ups revenue 11%, Nokia, Skype see a drop
MOSCOW. July 28 (Interfax) - LLC Microsoft Rus, the main Russian division of U.S. software giant Microsoft, upped revenue 11.2% in 2013 to 9.9 billion rubles, the SPARK Interfax database shows.
Gross profit climbed 21% to 3.5 billion rubles. Net profit went up 45% to 924 million rubles. Microsoft Corp. Received 570 million rubles in dividends from its Russian subsidiary, compared to 855 million rubles in 2012.
LLC Microsoft Development Center Rus, which is wholly owned by Luxembourg-based Skype Technologies (Microsoft bought Skype in 2011) posted revenue of 450 million rubles in 2013, down 13%. Sales profit climbed 7% to 50 million rubles. Net profit was 32.5 million rubles, compared to 20.6 million rubles in 2012.
LLC Nokia (Microsoft bought Nokia in April 2014) saw revenue fall 22.8% in 2013 to 28.3 billion rubles. Gross profit fell 18% to 6.2 billion rubles. Nokia's commercial expenses fell 22% to 5.9 billion rubles. Sales profit increased nearly 500% to 310 million rubles.
The Russian subsidiary of another major software developer SAP AG - SAP CIS - paid dividends of 1.2 billion rubles in 2013. Germany's SAP received 1 billion rubles in dividends from its Russian subsidiary in 2012. SAP CIS posted revenue of 19.6 billion rubles, up 21%. Sales profit was up 60% to 1.4 billion rubles. Net profit was 1.06 billion rubles, compared to 1.016 billion rubles the previous year.
