Ukrainian military open fire on Donetsk, Luhansk suburbs - militia

MOSCOW. July 28 (Interfax) - The militia said the Ukrainian military have opened fire on the Donetsk and Luhansk suburbs.

"During a mortar attack that began on Sunday evening and ended around 1:00 a.m. on Monday, the Ukrainian military, which targeted the building of the Ukrainian Security Service, hit the highest building Luhansk. The top floors were damaged. There is no information on casualties. Shells were also fired at Nizhny Kambrod," Konstantyn Knyrik, the head of the Southeastern Front information center, told Interfax.

"A shot was fired at the center, closer to the city council, from the Metallist area" on Monday morning, he said.

"There is information that an explosion took place near the station Aviatsentr on Sunday evening. Four people are feared dead. Mobile communications are still working poorly in the city," Knyrik said.

In the meantime, according to the militia, shooting continued in Donetsk all last night.

"Shots were fired in different areas of the city until 8:00 a.m. Shots were fired at Horlivka using Grad systems around 11:30 a.m. Moscow time. A plane is flying over the city. Last night, Ukrainian military fired two shells using a Grad system at Perevelnoye, a suburb of Donetsk. Shells exploded near the Butov Mine. The front part of the mine was partially damaged. No one was hurt," Knyrik said.
