Lukashenko okays candidate to head Belneftekhim
MINSK. July 28 (Interfax) - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has cleared Igor Lyashenko to be appointed chairman of Belneftekhim, Belarusian state media has reported.
Lyashenko, who is currently first deputy chairman at the petrochemical holding, must still have his appointment approved by the Belneftekhim board of directors.
The company's former head, Igor Zhilin, was dismissed at the beginning of July. Media reports said he may have been detained on abuse of office charges, although law enforcement agencies have not confirmed that information.
