Over 120,000 Ukraine refugees staying in Russia's Rostov region - governor
KRASNOGVARDEISKOYE, Crimea. July 28 (Interfax) - There are more than 120,000 refugees from Ukraine in Russia's Rostov region, and more than 41,000 of them have asked for provisional accommodation in that region, regional governor Vasily Golubev said on Monday.
Since June 2 more than 240,000 Ukrainian refugees have arrived in Rostov region but about half of them have moved on to other parts of Russia, Golubev told reporters during a visit to Crimea.
Today the majority of refugees are living in provisional summer-type facilities, but Golubev said the regional administration was looking for permanent accommodation to provide them with by the time the cold season starts.
"We are now exploring the possibility of permanent accommodation and hope that we will have that picture in July and partially in August," he said.
