Russia lowering export duties on seafood, oilseeds starting Sept 1
MOSCOW. July 29 (Interfax) - Russia will lower the export duty on several types of seafood and oils on September 1 of this year.
According to a government decree signed on July 25, 2014, the export duty on several types of fish - salmon, tilapia, halibut, eel, flounder, pollock, sole, haddock, saithe, whiting, herring, mackerel and others - will drop to 2.5% from the current 3.75% of the customs value.
The export duty for crab, shrimp, lobster tails and other types of seafood is falling to 5% from 7.5%.
In addition, export duties on soy will total 6.67% starting September 1, but no less than 11.67 euro per tonne, down from the current 13.33% (at least 23.33 euro per tonne). The export duty on rapeseed will be 11% (at least 19.26 euro per tonne), versus the current 15% (27.13 euro per tonne), and the duty on sunflower seeds - 13.24% (19.88 euro per tonne) versus 16.62% (24.94 euro per tonne).
In addition, the export duty for raw animal hides and skins will fall to 400 euro per tonne versus the current 450 euro per tonne.
