Ukrainian army loses 11 troops in action in past 24 hours
KYIV. July 31 (Interfax) - Eleven troops were killed and 31 were wounded in the area of the military operation in eastern Ukraine in the past 24 hours, Andriy Lysenko, an official with the information center of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council, told a briefing in Kyiv on Thursday.
Lysenko also said three border guards were killed and 11 were wounded in a recent attack in the area of the village of Vasilyevka, Donetsk region. "Last night, mercenaries opened fire on border guards in the area of the village of Vasilyevka. Three border guards were killed and 11 were wounded," he said.
Army units killed over fifty militia in a reconnaissance operation in the area of the village of Mospino, Donetsk region, on July 30. "A militants' ambush was eliminated during the cleansing of an area in the Donetsk region. Four militants were killed," Lysenko said.
