SBU releases distorted satellite images of Malaysian Boeing crash site - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. Aug 1 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Defense Ministry has analyzed the materials presented by the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) on July 30 that allegedly deny the authenticity of Russian satellite images confirming the presence of the Ukrainian army's Buk surface-to-air missile systems in the area of the Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 crash.

"As far as the images themselves are concerned, their detailed analysis has revealed the following: the Russian and Ukrainian images are generally identical on the first two slides. However, it is important to note that the image presented by SBU was taken several days later," the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry said on Friday.

As far as the satellite images circulated by Ukraine are concerned, "the given time of filming does not correspond with the image," it said.
