MOSCOW. Aug 4 (Interfax) - The U.S. Department of State and Department of Defense plan to spend $19 million on strengthening Ukraine's security forces, NTV television has reported.

Specifically, the U.S. military intend to train and equip four companies and one tactical headquarters of the Ukrainian National Guard," the report says.

If the U.S. Congress approved this plan, the Pentagon will begin re-training of the Ukrainian National Guard in 2015. The planned location is the international peacekeeping and security center in Yavoriv, Lviv region of Ukraine, NTV reported.

"The Pentagon official said the training will be led by representatives of the ground troops from the United States European Command and the California National Guard, which has partnership relations with Ukraine," NTV reported.

The report states, citing earlier reports, that the U.S. plans to provide the Ukrainian Border Guard Service with some $8 million to buy engineering equipment, the report says.
