Harmful bacteria found in poultry from Tyson Foods, Sanderson Farms - Russian agricultural watchdog
MOSCOW. Aug 4 (Interfax) - Russian agricultural watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor says it has uncovered harmful bacteria in poultry from American companies Tyson Foods and Sanderson Farms.
Aerobic mesophiles and facultative anaerobes were discovered during laboratory testing of two consignments of poultry shipped from U.S.-based Sanderson Farms, Inc. (N P-522) and Tyson Foods, Inc. (N P-243), the watchdog said.
Rosselkhoznadzor has warned U.S. state veterinary services that such violations are unacceptable. The agency also said it had increased laboratory monitoring of products from these companies.
