Kyiv, Chisinau's attempts to impose blockade on Transdniestria stoking up tensions - Russia

MOSCOW. Aug 4 (Interfax) - Moscow has issued a warning against negative consequences of Moldova and Ukraine's moves in the Transdniestrian settlement.

"As we earlier warned our partners in the talks - representatives of Ukraine and of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, and observes from the United States and the European Union - all of the above-mentioned trust-destroying moves can lead to an impasse in the talks. Chisinau and Kyiv must be aware of their direct responsibility for the negative consequences which their steps to shake the situation may lead to," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a commentary posted on its website.

Moldova and Ukraine's coordinated steps to lock Transdniestria in an economic and transport siege in an attempt to force it to make concessions in the negotiating processes and to give up its foreign-policy priorities could stoke tensions in the region," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
