Armenian troops forced to open response fire in case of target gunfire from Azerbaijan - Yerevan
YEREVAN. Aug 5 (Interfax) - In the past 24 hours the Azerbaijani armed forced violated ceasefire at the border with Armenia 45 times and gunfire was held from "large-caliber weapons" as well, the Armenian Defense Ministry press office told Interfax.
"According to the latest information received, on August 4-5 the Azerbaijani armed forces carried out over 600 shots in the direction of Armenian positions. Response fire was opened from Armenia 11 times and 211 shots were fired," the press office said.
No one was injured in Armenia, the Defense Ministry said.
"The Armenian armed forces observe the truce rigorously and resort to response measures only in case of target gunfire from the opponent," the Defense Ministry said.
