Russia boosts ferrous metal exports 52% in H1 - customs

MOSCOW. Aug 6 (Interfax) - Russian ferrous metal exports soared 52% year-on-year in tonnage in January-June 2014, the Federal Customs Service (FCS) said.

The exports rose 38% in value.

Exports to non-CIS countries jumped 60.5% in tonnage and 51% in value. Exports to the CIS grew 15.6% and fell 4.8%, respectively.

Ferrous metal imports fell 5.4% in tonnage in January-June. Imports from non-CIS countries fell 3.6% and imports from the CIS fell 6.3%. Imports in value fell 0.3% overall, including a fall of 1.5% from non-CIS countries and a rise of 0.9% from CIS countries.
