Putin, Hollande speak about Ukraine, humanitarian relief
MOSCOW. Aug 12 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and his French counterpart Francois Hollande have discussed the Ukrainian crisis on the phone, the Kremlin press service reports.
"Serious concerns were expressed about the continuing deterioration of the situation and the sharp exacerbation of humanitarian problems in the southeast. The importance of efforts towards humanitarian assistance to the civilian population was noted," the report runs.
"V. Putin described the concrete measures the Russian side had been taking in that field in collaboration with representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross," it says.
"Both sides stressed the primary significance of the termination of hostilities and the soonest possible political resolution of Ukrainian domestic problems," the report says.
