Russia, Egypt to increase cooperation in energy sphere - Putin
BOCHAROV RUCHEI (SOCHI). Aug 12 (Interfax) - Russia and Egypt intend to increase future cooperation in the energy sphere, Russian President Vladimir Putin said following talks with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on Tuesday.
"The Egyptian president and I recognized the need for further expansion of energy cooperation in widely differing areas," Putin said on Tuesday following the meeting with Sisi.
Russian energy companies have great interest in cooperation with Egypt, he said, adding that Lukoil is already operating there.
There is also potential for strengthening cooperation in hydropower and nuclear energy, Putin said.
