Over 132,000 people worldwide infected with Covid-19 - Rospotrebnadzor

MOSCOW. March 13 (Interfax) - A total of new 6,700 Covid-19 cases were registered worldwide in the past 24 hours, thus bringing the total number of cases to over 132,000, Russia's Federal Service for Health and Consumer Rights (Rospotrebnadzor) said on Friday.

"The total number of confirmed cases worldwide reached 132,756 as of 8:00 a.m. on March 13, 2020 (the number increased by 6,731, or 5.3%, over a period of 24 hours)," the agency said in its daily bulletin on coronavirus infection.

The coronavirus has been registered in 111 countries of the world, not including China, 51,753 cases have been registered in these countries. Almost all new cases were registered outside of China (6,708 cases, or 14.9%).

Besides, according to reports, the first coronavirus cases were registered in Guyana (one, from the United States) and on Cuba (three, from Italy).

Six new cases of Covid-19 were registered in Russia yesterday: four in Moscow, one in the Kaliningrad region and one in the Krasnodar Territory. The total number of official diagnoses in Russia is 34. Of these cases, 31 are citizens of Russia who arrived from abroad, two cases are citizens of China (discharged in February) and one case is a citizen of Italy, an exchange student from a St. Petersburg medical school.
