Russia ups production of sunflower oil, cheese, meat in 7M - Rosstat
MOSCOW. Aug 15 (Interfax) - Cheese production in Russia, which currently meets just half of market demand, increased 10% year-on-year in January-July 2014 to 267,000 tonnes, including cheese products, the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) said on Friday.
Unrefined sunflower oil is also among the leaders in production growth. Its production increased 32.6% to 2.3 million tonnes. The production of meat and meat by-products (without poultry meat) increased 11.9% to 1.1 million tonnes and poultry meat increased 6.4% to 2.2 million tonnes.
Sausage product output increased 7.4% year-on-year to 960,000 tonnes and canned meat output increased 0.7% to 335 million standard cans.
At the same time, the production of long-life baked goods fell 2% to 3.6 million tonnes and flour - 2.9% to 4.8 billion tonnes. Kefir output fell 2.3% to 666,000 tonnes, processed milk - 0.5% to 3.2 million tonnes and fish and fish products - 2.9% to 2.1 million tonnes.
Rosstat said beer production, including beer beverages, fell 7% to 505 million decaliters. In July 2014 beer production fell 10.1% in comparison with July of last year, and fell 14.4% in comparison with June of this year. The bottling of mineral and soda water increased 2.6% to 7.2 million 0.5-liter bottles.
