U.S. President Obama to visit Estonia in early September

TALLINN. Aug 15 (Interfax - U.S. President Barack Obama will visit Estonia on September 3, the Estonian Foreign Ministry reported in a statement available on its website.

During his visit, Obama will meet with Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves, Prime Minister Taavi Roivas, and members of the Estonian government.

While in Tallinn, Obama will also meet with Latvian President Andris Berzins and Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite and will deliver a public lecture.

Following the visit to Estonia, the U.S. president will go to Wales to attend a NATO summit.

"The visit of the President of the United States confirms the long-term and close relationship between the United States and Estonia and recognizes Estonia's work in attaining common goals," it said.

"At the meetings, security issues of relevance to the United States and Europe will be discussed in light of the upcoming NATO summit," it said.
