Russia lifts ban on fish imports from two enterprises in Chile

MOSCOW. Aug 18 (Interfax) - Russian agricultural watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor has lifted the ban on fish deliveries from two enterprises in Chile.

The restrictions were lifted after the two enterprises - Acuinova Chile S.A. (N11012) and Salmones Andes S.A. (N10664) - remedied shortcomings identified previously and after the Chilean veterinary service provided food product safety guarantees.

Rosselkhoznadzor also added 12 Chilean fish enterprises to its list of suppliers eligible to export product to Russia.

Russia is increasing the amount of fish it imports from Chile after imposing an embargo on fish imports from Norway (among others) in response to sanctions against Russia over Ukraine.
