Facilities for refugees in Rostov rgn could close by late Sept if situation allows

ROSTOV-ON-DON. Aug 18 (Interfax) - Temporary accommodation facilities in the Rostov region for refugees, who came from southeastern Ukraine, could be closed by late September, if the flow decreases, regional government representative Alexander Titov told Interfax.

"As of now, it is impossible to close the field temporary accommodation facilities due to large flow of people coming from Ukraine," Titov said.

The Rostov region has three field temporary accommodation facilities, which currently house over 4,000 people, he said.

In the past 24 hours 1,500 Ukrainian refugees were sent from the Rostov region to the Krasnoyarsk territory and Irkutsk region.

The field temporary accommodation facility outside Gukovo was eliminated due to the fact that quotas for granting temporary residence permits in the Rostov region to Ukrainian citizens has been exhausted and most Ukrainians remaining in the region stay with relatives and friends.

People, who were in the Gukovo field temporary accommodation facility, were put in three other field temporary accommodation facilities in the region near the cities of Donetsk, Matveyev-Kurgan and Novoshakhtinsk.
