Militants clash with police in Dagestan's Karabudakhkent district - source
MAKHACHKALA. Aug 20 (Interfax) - The police and attached forces engaged in fighting with a group of militants on the outskirts of the Gubden village in the Karabudakhkent district of Dagestan early on Wednesday morning, a source in the Dagestani law enforcement authorities told Interfax.
He said three to five militants were fighting the police.
A counterterrorism operation regime was put into place because of the clash. "The counterterrorism operation regime was put into place at 1 a.m. The area is being searched and other measures are being taken in order to find and neutralize the militants," a representative of the operative staff said.
