DPR announces arrival of ICRC representatives in Donetsk

MOSCOW. Aug 20 (Interfax) - The administration of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) says representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) reached Donetsk on Tuesday.

"The ICRC representatives arrived in Donetsk yesterday; they were accommodated at a hotel and provided with security guards. Their meeting with the republican administration will be arranged this afternoon," DPR First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Purgin told Interfax.

Purgin said on Tuesday ICRC specialists would be admitted to the DPR territory without preconditions for escorting the humanitarian convoy. He also said the militia was prepared to ensure the security of the ICRC representatives.
