Ukrainian defense suppliers comply with Russia ban - minister

KYIV. Aug 20 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian government investigates each claim about certain Ukrainian firms continuing to supply military and dual-purpose products to Russia, but none of them has been confirmed, said Finance Minister Oleksandr Shlapak.

"We hear rumors of sales via third countries. Each of these instances is being investigated... No military and dual-purpose products are being supplied to Russia," he told a press conference in Kyiv on Wednesday, recalling that the ban was imposed two months ago.

Asked about instances of such supplies by Motor Sych, the minister asked the reporters to carefully verify the information and not to spread unconfirmed rumors.

Defense cooperation with Russia was banned by the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko on June 17, 2014.
