Sanctions have no significant effect on food prices - Manturov
SVOBODA, Kursk region. Aug 22 (Interfax) - Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov said that sanctions have so far left prices at Russian grocery stores largely unaffected.
"So far, the sanctions have had minimal effect on the change in retail prices," he said at a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on agricultural development.
Manturov added that a number of regions have seen a small jump in retail prices, but this increase was within the norm so far.
"For example, in the Far Eastern Federal District, prices increased for chicken meat up to 6%, and 5% for pork. In several constituent entities, the opposite - prices fell. For example, in the Volga regions, retail prices for cucumbers fell 14%, up to 11% for apples and up to 2.7% for eggs," he said.
