Ex-president of Abkhazia Ankvab casts ballot in Moscow

MOSCOW. Aug 24 (Interfax) - Former president of Abkhazia Alexander Ankvab has taken part in presidential elections at a polling station in Moscow.

"As at noon on Sunday 160 citizens of Abkhazia living in Moscow had cast their ballots at the polling station in Moscow," chairman of the station Oleg Bartsits said.

"The elections take place in a calm, businesslike atmosphere," he said.

An Interfax correspondent reports that Ankvab who resigned from the post of president of Abkhazia voted at the polling station in Moscow but refused to make any public comments.
