No fighting on in southern sector of Donetsk region - regional admin

KYIV. Aug 24 (Interfax) - The press service of the Donetsk state regional administration has denied reports in social media on Sunday, claiming that that Mariupol is under the threat of a terror attack.

"No clashes are ongoing in Mariupol, or in the Novoazovsk, Telman or Pershotravnevyi districts of the region. These territories are under the Ukrainian state's total control. Head of the Donetsk regional state administration Serhiy Taruta is working in Mariupol," the press service said.

The Ukrainian forces and territorial defense battalions, deployed in the south of the region, are sufficient to rebuff attacks, the regional authorities said.
