UTair boosts passenger traffic 13% in Jan-July
KHANTY-MANSIISK. Aug 25 (Interfax) - The UTair group increased the number of passengers it transported in January-July by 13.06% year-on-year to 6.189 million, the company said in a statement.
The group's passenger turnover was up 25% at 13.112 billion passenger-kilometers in the seven months, including 5.404 billion passenger-km on domestic flights (3.19% more year-on-year) and 7.707 billion passenger-km on international flights (46.8% more). The seat-occupancy rate increased 4.3 percentage points to 80.7%.
The company said passenger turnover and seat occupancy grew due to increase efficiency in managing the route network and the airplanes.
The group transported 13,700 tonnes of cargo in the seven months, down 14.9%, and 2,900 tonnes of mail, up 64.4% more.
Flying time on helicopters fell 9.3% to 81,445 hours. The group's helicopters transported 425,500 passengers, down 2.5%, and 51,200 tonnes of cargo, down 34.6%.
UTair is a leading Russian airline and one of the world's biggest helicopter operators.
