Lavrov: Possible Putin-Poroshenko meeting to be additionally announced
MOSCOW. Aug 25 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov does not rule out there will be a bilateral meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart Petro Poroshenko in addition to a meeting of the leaders of Customs Union member states and the Ukrainian president.
"Indeed, a number of bilateral meetings have been planned. It will be additionally announced who, precisely, will meet and when," Lavrov said at a press conference in Moscow on Monday.
He was asked whether a bilateral meeting of Putin and Poroshenko in Minsk had been scheduled.
As reported earlier, the leaders of Customs Union member states will meet with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in Minsk on August 26 in the presence of European Commission representatives. Putin will participate in that meeting, too.
