Issue of gas transit via Ukraine to be discussed at meeting between Novak, Oettinger
MINSK. Aug 26 (Interfax) - The issues of transiting Russian gas via Ukraine will be discussed during a meeting between Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak and EU Energy Commissioner Gunther Oettinger on August 29.
"We will have a vast agenda, the range of issues is wide, including issues of gas transit via Ukraine," Novak told reporters in Minsk.
The minister is part of the delegation accompanying Russian President Vladimir Putin to the Customs Union-Ukraine summit.
"The viability of continuing talks on this point" will be discussed as well, Novak said.
At the same time, issues relating to the construction of the South Stream and Opal pipelines will be discussed at the meeting with the EU commissioner, Novak said. The dialogue "with regard to the synchronous work of energy systems" will be continued, he said.
