RRCS to begin consultations over second Ukraine aid on Wednesday
MOSCOW. Aug 26 (Interfax) - The administration of the Russian Red Cross Society (RRCS) is going to meet with representatives from international Red Cross agencies in Moscow on Wednesday to discuss the delivery and distribution of Russia's second humanitarian aid to southeast Ukraine, RRCS chief Raisa Lukutsova told Interfax on Tuesday.
"We are beginning consultations on Wednesday. We are planning to meet with representatives from the International Federation of the Red Cross (IFRC) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)," she said.
The trilateral meeting will focus on Ukraine, as well as other issues concerning the RRCS' cooperation with the IFRC and the ICRC, Lukutsova said.
Earlier she told Interfax that the RRCS is ready to send its staff to distribute the second humanitarian aid. Plans to send the second aid to Ukraine were announced by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov a day earlier.
The first Russian humanitarian convoy arrived to the southeastern Ukraine late last week.
Lukutsova said that the Ukrainian Red Cross formally denied the RRCS participation in the aid distribution among the population of southeast Ukraine.
