U.S. air strikes at terrorists in Syria without Damascus permission would violate int'l law - Lavrov

SELIGER, Tver region. Aug 27 (Interfax) - Russia has informed the United States that if Washington decides to carry out air strikes on terrorists' positions in Syria without the permission of the official Syrian authorities, this would be most serious violations of international law, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

"The Americans have now said that they will bomb terrorists in Syria and that they do not need any permission. We have already explained them that this would be a most serious violation of international law," Lavrov said when answering questions from participants in the Seliger youth forum.
