Kazakhstan to develop main directions of troika's coordinated transport policy
MINSK. Aug 27 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan was named the developer of the main directions and implementation stages of the Eurasian troika's coordinated transport policy, the Eurasian Economic Commission's (EEC) press service said.
"Kazakhstan has been designated the developer of the main directions and implementation stages of the coordinated transport policy, work on the draft international treaty on water navigation is entrusted to Russia," the press service said about a meeting of the EEC Advisory Committee on Transport and Infrastructure's subcommittees on civil aviation, water and rail transportation.
Resolving issues concerning the coordinated transport policy and international agreements on navigation is necessary for the implementation of the transport section of the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union.
According to the EEC press service, the members of the subcommittee on civil aviation alone noted the expediency of conducting research on the issues relating to the formation of a common market for air transportation services.
Members of the subcommittee on rail transport agreed on the necessity of developing common approaches and requirements for issuing safety certificates for rail transport. Kazakhstan will be the developer.
At the meeting of the subcommittee on water transport, a draft agreement on water navigation was considered. An expert discussion will take place during the subcommittee's meeting in the future.
