N. Korea accuses U.S. of human rights violations over Ferguson events
MOSCOW. Aug 27 (Interfax) - The murder of a black teenager in the town of Ferguson proves that the United States is becoming "a graveyard of human rights", a statement by a spokesman for the North Korean Foreign Ministry published by the KCNA news agency reads.
"The U.S. is, indeed, a country wantonly violating human rights where people are subject to discrimination and humiliation due to their races and they are seized with such horror that they do not know when they are shot to death," the statement reads.
"The U.S. issued every year a report taking issue with 'human rights performances' of other countries as if it were an 'international human rights judge' but this time suffered disgrace and became a laughing stock of the world owing to what happened in it," the spokesman said.
It was reported that a white policeman shot dead a black teenager in the town of Ferguson, Missouri, the U.S. on August 9. The murder sparked mass unrest in the town.
