Poroshenko, Barroso discuss outcomes of Minsk meeting
KYIV. Aug 27 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso discussed outcomes of a recent meeting between the Belarusian-Kazakh-Russian Customs Union member-states and Ukraine leaders and EU representatives in Minsk in a telephone conversation.
Poroshenko and Barroso "discussed outcomes of the Ukraine-EU-Eurasian troika meeting that took place in Minsk on August 26. Petro Poroshenko thanked Jose Manuel Barroso for his personal efforts toward ensuring a high level of the EU's participation in the meeting in Minsk," the Ukrainian presidential press service reported on Wednesday.
The parties acknowledged that the EU's further participation in multilateral talks would be productive.
Poroshenko reaffirmed his willingness to meet with the presidents of the European Council and the European Commission while visiting Brussels on August 29-30.
