Russian plane to bring approx. 20 tonnes of humanitarian aid to China
NIZHNY NOVGOROD. Aug 28 (Interfax) - A special flight of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry will bring more humanitarian aid from Nizhny Novgorod and Perm to the Chinese province Yunnan jolted by a devastating earthquake.
The Nizhny Novgorod emergency situations department said on Thursday the ministry's Ilyushin Il-76 plane departed from Nizhny Novgorod on Wednesday evening. It took aboard ten tonnes of humanitarian cargo from the Federal State Reserves Agency's warehouses.
The plane will make a stopover in Perm for loading another nine tonnes of humanitarian aid and will continue its flight to China, the department reported.
Early this week a special flight of the ministry transported 19 tonnes of humanitarian cargo from Nizhny Novgorod and Perm to China.
