RZD September operations plan sees 1.4% drop in loading - source

MOSCOW. Aug 29 (Interfax) - The operations plan for September at Russian Railways (RZD) calls for average daily loading during the month to equal 3.44 million tonnes, a source familiar with company operations told Interfax.

That corresponds to a monthly total of 103.2 million tonnes, down 1.4% from actual loading of 104.7 million tonnes in September 2013.

Average daily loading in the first 28 days of August was 3.4119 million tonnes, the source said. That is higher than the target of 3.35 million tonnes, which corresponds to 103.85 million tonnes or 3.4% less than in August 2013.

Rail loading declined 3.4% in July 2014, 2.8% in June and 2.2% in May. RZD Vice President Salman Babayev said previously that loading for the full year would drop 1%-1.8%. Initial forecasts said loading would rise about 1% this year.
