Putin, Hollande discuss Ukraine in phone conversation - Kremlin press service
MOSCOW. Aug 29 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin talked on the phone with French President Francois Hollande on Friday, the Kremlin press service said.
"In the run-up to an EU summit, [Putin and Hollande] had a substantial discussion on the crisis situation in Ukraine and considered options for possibly facilitating a political settlement of the internal Ukrainian conflict," it said.
"Both parties stressed the need to stop bloodshed, overcome a humanitarian disaster, and resolve problems by exclusively peaceful political methods," it said.
Putin and Hollande agreed to continue their contacts in a bilateral and multilateral format, the Kremlin press service said.
