Putin arrives in Yakutsk

MOSCOW. Sept 1 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Yakutsk, a leg of his trip to the Far Eastern Federal District.

The chief of state will meet with students and professors of the M.K. Ammosov Northeast Federal University in Yakutsk.

The Russian president will also hold a conference dedicated to state support to primary investment programs and territories of priority socioeconomic development in the Far East. Federal ministers, regional heads and executives of the biggest companies will attend the conference.

In addition, Putin will take part in a ceremony marking connection of the first segment of the Force of Siberia trunk pipeline. The pipeline will carry natural gas to the domestic market and China. The ceremony will be held in the vicinity of Yakutsk, the 18th kilometer of the Namsky Road, near the village of Us Khatyn.
