Naryshkin calls to not curtail Russia-France relations
PARIS. Sept 2 (Interfax) - A curtailment of bilateral contacts between Russia and France against the Ukrainian crisis backdrop is damaging and disadvantageous to everyone, State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin opined.
"I am positive that a course towards the curtailment of our contacts will not only betray the collective historical memory but also do serious harm to our relations and our people," Naryshkin told French politicians, public figures and businessmen during his working visit to Paris.
The Ukrainian crisis overshadows or even threatens to block a normal relationship between Russia and France in certain areas, he said.
Naryshkin said they should think about the use of it and added he was confident that neither Russians nor French businessmen, public figures and artists were interested in that.
"This means we should resist this trend together," he suggested.
