Russian fishermen catch 4.9% less fish since beginning of year
MOSCOW. Sept 2 (Interfax) - Russian fisherman have caught 2.849 million tonnes of fish since the beginning of this year, which is 4.9%, or 146,300 tonnes, less than in the same period of last year, Federal Fisheries Agency (Rosrybolovstvo) said.
Russian fishermen caught 236,900 tonnes of fish in international waters, which is 39,700 tonnes less than in the same period of 2013. In regions covered by conventions and in the open waters of the Pacific Ocean, the catch was up 28,800 tonnes at 176,100 tonnes.
