Naryshkin proposes holding next PACE Presidential Committee meeting in Moscow

PARIS. Sept 2 (Interfax) - Russian State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin said he is satisfied with the results of his attendance of a meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe's Presidential Committee and proposed that it convene next in Moscow.

"We demonstrated our interests and expressed satisfaction with the format of interaction and contacts similar to the ones we have had today. In connection with this, I have proposed that the next such meeting be held in Moscow," Naryshkin said after the Presidential Committee's meeting and talks with PACE President Anne Brasseur.

He said Russia values PACE as a leading open and democratic venue for the broadest possible parliamentary discussion of issues of importance for Europe.
