Ukraine is becoming less dependent on Russia - Yatsenyuk
KYIV. Sept 3 (Interfax) - Ukraine is becoming less dependent on Russia every day, Ukraine's Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said.
"Ukraine's export is being diversified because the EU has opened its market to Ukrainian goods and we have increased the export to the EU by $1.3 billion while simultaneously reducing our trade with Russia by $2.5 billion. We are becoming less and less dependent on Russia. We shouldn't be afraid of that," he said opening a government session on Wednesday.
Yatsenyuk believes this situation has enabled Ukraine to re-orient its economy and energy "from dependence on Russia to independence together with the EU."
