DPR, LPR leaders ready for ceasefire from 3 p.m. Sept 5 if Ukrainians sign peace plan
DONETSK. Sept 4 (Interfax) - The leaders of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR, respectively) have announced their readiness to order a ceasefire in eastern Ukraine, if Kyiv's representatives agree and sign a plan for a political resolution to the conflict on September 5.
"The head of the Donetsk People's Republic, Oleksandr Zakharchenko, and the head of the Luhansk People's Republic, Ihor Plotnytskyi, said that they are ready to give a ceasefire order at 3 p.m. tomorrow, September 5, 2014, in the event of agreements being reached and Ukrainian representatives signing a plan for political settlement of the conflict," the DPR and LPR leaders said in a joint statement.
They also said that at the Minsk meeting this Friday they will present "their proposals for consideration by the Contact Group regarding the ceasefire regime, which will spell out details of guarantees that the conflicting parties will keep to the regime."
