Ukrainian Finance Ministry has not estimated cost of building "wall" on Russian border
KYIV. Sept 4 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Finance Ministry has not calculated the estimated cost of the implementation of the 'Stena' project, Ukrainian Finance Minister Oleksandr Shlapak said.
"We have no such calculations. We now have an idea of creating the wall and the relevant structures are working on its format. We will calculate," he told reporters after a parliament session on Thursday.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk earlier said the Ukrainian administration was beginning to work on the 'Stena' project.
He did not specify what precisely would be done as part of the project.
The action plan Rebuilding Ukraine posted on the Cabinet website says: "Project Stena: construction of a reliable fortified border between Ukraine and Russia. Within six months."
The proposal to build a wall along the Ukrainian-Russian border was made by Ihor Kolomoisky, the head of the Dnepropetrovsk region's administration, in June.
