Reps of Ukraine, self-proclaimed republics sign in Minsk protocol on ceasefire from 6 p.m. Sept 5 - source

MINSK. Sept 5 (Interfax) - A protocol on a ceasefire in Donbas starting from 6 p.m. on Friday was signed during contact group talks between representatives of Ukraine, the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) with the participation of Russian and Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) representatives, sources close to the talks told Interfax.

"The protocol on a ceasefire from 6 p.m. on Friday was signed. The protocol has 14 provisions, which include all aspects of control, exchanging captives and other issues," a source told Interfax.

"In Minsk representatives of Ukraine, the DPR and LPR have signed a protocol on a ceasefire from 6 p.m. on Friday," the DPR tweeted later.

For now, Interfax does not possess confirmation of the information on the signing of the protocol from official sources.

Former Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma, Russian Ambassador in Kyiv Mikhail Zurabov, OSCE special envoy Heidi Tagliavini, DPR Prime Minister Alexander Zakharchenko, DPR Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Purgin and LPR head Igor Plotnitsky are participating in the contact group meeting held in Minsk on Friday.
