Donbas to mark 71st anniversary of liberation from Nazi Germany
MOSCOW. Sept 7 (Interfax) - The leadership of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic has declared September 8 as a day off in connection with celebrations of the 71st anniversary of the liberation of Donbass from Nazi Germany in World War II, the press center of the government of the self-declared Donetsk People's Republic said on its website on Sunday.
"The Presidium of the Supreme Council and the Council of Ministers of the Donetsk People's Republic have declared September 8 2014 as a day off to mark the liberation of Donbass from German invaders," it said.
Festive events will be held in Donetsk on this day, wreaths will be laid at sites connected with the Great Patriotic War and a ceremony will take place at the monument to liberator soldiers.
